BlazingCDN Portal > Video CDN
A Video CDN with permanent caching is a specialized network infrastructure designed to deliver video content to users more efficiently. It involves strategically placed servers around the globe that store copies of video content. The key feature of this CDN is its permanent caching capability, which means once a video is stored on a CDN server, it remains there indefinitely. This approach significantly reduces loading times and buffering for viewers, as the content is often served from a location geographically closer to them.
- To create the first resource for a Video CDN, select Video CDN in the left menu.
- Fill in the name for the CDN resource and click on CONTINUE.
3. After that, you will be directed to the pricing plan selection page. Once you choose a pricing plan, click the CREATE VIDEO CDN RESOURCE button.
4. The next step will be importing video content.
- File Import. Files will be pre-fetched into Video CDN storage using Rsync;
5. When choosing auto-import of content, you will have three options available for auto-import: Rsync, Swift URL, and Cloud Storage.
- File import with Rsync: This feature allows for the automated synchronization of video content from the origin server to the CDN’s nodes using Rsync, a software utility for efficiently transferring and synchronizing files across computer systems.
- Swift URL Integration: Integration with Swift, an object storage system, enables the CDN to retrieve and store content through Swift URLs. This is particularly useful for handling large amounts of unstructured data, like video and multimedia content.
- Cloud Storage: If your feeds are located in the BlazingCDN repository, you can download content from there.
